Hi, I’m Holly - Holistic Nutritionist & Founder of The Grounded Body
I help women with lipedema understand what’s actually driving their symptoms and build a sustainable way to work with their body, through a systems-based approach with a metabolic focus.
I didn’t come to this work from the outside.
I found out that I had lipedema in 2019. For years I was doing everything I was supposed to, eating carefully, moving, managing. And I still felt heavy, inflamed, and like my body wasn’t responding the way it should. Getting the diagnosis gave me a name for what I was experiencing, but not a roadmap for how to actually support myself day to day.
That part I had to figure out on my own.
What I kept finding was that no matter what protocol I tried, compression, lymphatic work, movement, nothing shifted in a meaningful way until I started addressing the internal systems driving the symptoms. Insulin regulation. Histamine load. Gut integrity. The metabolic layer that most lipedema approaches skip entirely.
That’s what I built my practice around. And it’s what Foundations is built on.
My Approach:
I take a systems-based approach with a metabolic focus, meaning I look at how insulin regulation, histamine load, gut integrity, lymphatic capacity, and nervous system regulation all interact, rather than treating lipedema as just a fat storage problem or just a lymphatic problem.
Most women who come to me have already done a lot of research. They’ve tried protocols. They understand pieces of it. What they’re missing is someone who can look at their specific picture, their symptoms, their history, their lifestyle, and show them how it all connects for them, in the right order, at the right pace.
That’s the work I do inside Foundations.
I’m not here to hand you another protocol to white-knuckle through. I’m here to make sure you understand what your body is doing and why, because that’s what makes the difference between following rules and actually being able to troubleshoot, adapt, and self-navigate for the long term.
The mechanism teaching is the easy part. Connecting it to your specific body is the work.
Ready to understand what your body is actually doing?
If you’ve been managing symptoms one piece at a time and want a clearer picture of what’s driving them, the discovery call is the right place to start. It’s 20 minutes, it’s free, and you’ll leave with clarity on whether Foundations is the right fit.
